Neobalanocarpus heimii (cengal) "Crown Shyness" Phenomenon

I do believe that the nature phenomenon of "crown shyness" of Dryobalanops aromatica (kapur) is well-known to many foresters or forest lovers. The reason for its name is because the leaf tips of the Dryobalanops aromatica appear to be shy towards their own kind, hence forming the gap.

Field Trip to Matang Mangroves and Segari Melintang Forest Reserved

On the last 21 - 23 October 2011, I have organized a field trip to Pusat Eko-Pelajaran Paya Laut Larut Matang, Kuala Sepetang, Perak. The objective of this trip is to study the unique formation of marine alluvial swamp forest in Malaysia. The trip is held on the 22nd October 2011.

A Trip To Penang National Park

Me, Kamal and Nafizah had conducted a trip to Penang National Park with our fellow DBK1A and DBK1B students on 23 - 25 September 2011. It was a very memorable Penang trip that I ever experienced in my entire career. We traveled there by chartered bus because PSA was unable to provide us transport due to unavailability of our varsity's drivers. The journey began at 4.00 p.m. on Friday.

We arrived at Chalet Sportfishing, Persatuan Nelayan Kawasan Teluk Bahang at 10.15 p.m. It was a very calm and peaceful night when we get there. By not wasting the time, I get the keys and distributed it to my students. Me and Kamal found ourselves so sleepy and get into deep nice dream right after.

A trip to Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam

On 22 September 2011, I had a trip to Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam (formely known as Taman Sri Cahaya Bukit Cerakah Shah Alam) with my students. This trip is purposely conducted for CW102 course practical requirement. Frankly speaking, I had a very enjoyable and unforgettable almost 3 hours memories trekking and tagging the major species of lowland dipterocarp forest.

Second Trip to FRIM Kepong

A very nice trip to Dipterocarp and Non-Dipterocarp Arboretum, FRIM I had on the last 15 September 2011 with DBK1A. I must admitted that I had the most joyful moment every single trips with my pupils (DBK1A).

On that day, I was conducting the practical class at FRIM's arboretum for Dendrology course. This time, my students have learned the features of leaf which are leaf shapes, leaf apexes and leaf bases. Very useful keys for tree species identification in the forest. Here I attached some pictures for commemoration.

First Trip to Dipterocarp Arboretum FRIM

On September 8, 2011, I have arranged the first trip to Dipterocarp Arboretum, Forest Research Institute of Malaysia Kepong for DBK1A class. This is the first ever trip since Hari Raya break.

Kesombongan Membawa Kemurkaan Allah SWT

Firman Allah SWT yang bermaksud:

"Dan (ingatlah) ketika kami berfirman kepada malaikat: "Tunduklah (beri hormat) kepada Nabi Adam". Lalu mereka semuanya tunduk memberi hormat melainkan Iblis, ia enggan dan takabbur, dan menjadilah ia dari golongan yang kafir.".

(Surah al-Baqarah: 34)

HURAIAN

Sifat sombong atau takbur merupakan sifat mazmumah (yang dicela) yang perlu dijauhi oleh setiap individu muslim. Menyombong diri tidak mungkin dapat meningkatkan kedudukan atau martabat seseorang itu. Sebaliknya sifat yang buruk ini akan menjadikan manusia benci kepadanya dan dimurkai Allah SWT. Tiada sebarang kebaikan daripada sifat sombong kerana ia mewarisi sifat makhluk yang dilaknat Allah iaitu iblis.

Dalam pengertian yang lebih luas, seseorang itu bukan sahaja dianggap sombong apabila meninggi diri dan memandang hina orang lain, bahkan enggan menolong orang yang berhajat juga dikira sombong. Melanggar peraturan lalulintas atau undang-undang negara juga dikira sombong kerana enggan tunduk kepada sesuatu yang mendatangkan kebaikan kepada semua pihak.

Apatah lagi jika melanggar perintah Allah SWT seperti sembahyang dan mengeluarkan zakat. Ini kerana perbuatan tersebut menunjukkan betapa ia sombong kepada Allah SWT sehingga enggan tunduk kepada syariat-Nya. Lantaran itu maka layaklah ia menerima azab Allah SWT yang amat pedih di akhirat kelak.

KESIMPULAN

Manusia dilarang bersikap sombong dan takabbur dalam segenap urusan dan tindakannya kerana ia mengundang kemurkaan Allah SWT. Melakukan sesuatu dalam keadaan dimurkai Allah SWT, tidak akan berjaya sebaliknya akan ditimpa kegagalan dan kebinasaan.

Khasiat Ketam Bunga

Assalamualaikum w.b.h. dan Salam Sejahtera.

Pada ruangan Info Medik kali ini saya ingin berkongsi maklumat mengenai khasiat ketam bunga. Pernahkah anda melihat atau makan ketam bunga? Kalau belum, gambar di bawah ini menunjukkan bagaimana rupanya ketam bunga ini..

Ketam bunga ini yang biasanya digoreng kunyit, dibuat sup, ditumis berlada, digulai lemak atau pelbagai kaedah untuk menyediakan masakan berasaskannya memang lazat dan sedap. Di sebalik kelazatan daging ketam yang lemak-lemak manis ini tersimpang satu rahsia Allah yang tidak ternilai harganya. TAHUKAH ANDA, DAGING KETAM INI ADALAH PENAWAR KEPADA PENYAKIT DEMAM DENGGI DAN CHIKUNGUNYA?

KAEDAH PENYEDIAAN

1. Dapatkan ketam ini di pasar-pasar pagi atau pasar-pasar besar seperti Tesco, Giant, Econsave ataupun Jusco. Kalau anda tak tahu rupanya, lihat gambar di atas untuk dijadikan panduan.
2. Buang kulit dan isi perutnya. Basuh sebersih-bersihnya.
3. Belah badan ketam tersebut kepada dua bahagian dan potong hujung kaki-kakinya (kalau tidak dibuang pun tidak mengapa).
4. Masukkan ke dalam periuk. Tuangkan air secukupnya dan masukkan rencah untuk dibuat sup (seperti bawang putih, bawang merah, daun sup dan sebagainya) 
5. Rebus ketam tersebut sehingga naik bau.
6. Setelah masak, hirup sup ketam tersebut dan makan dagingnya sekali. Teruskan makan dan menghirup sup ketam tersebut sehingga platlet darah pesakit demam denggi dan chikungunya kembail naik pada tahap normal.

Sup ketam yang lazat mampu membuka selera...

InsyaAllah, pesakit akan kembali sembuh daripada penyakit demam denggi dan chikungunya. Ada satu pilihan lagi selain daripada ketam bunga iaitu ketam nipah. Begini rupanya ketam nipah...

Ada orang kata ketam nipah ni adalah penawar paling mujarab terhadap demam denggi atau chikungunya jika dibandingkan dengan ketam bunga. Seperkara lagi, saya juga diberitahu yang ketam ini tidak boleh dimakan oleh orang Islam disebabkan hidupnya dua alam. Entah betul atau tidak itu saya mohon supaya pembaca dapatkan sendiri maklumat yang sah mengenai status halalnya. Baiklah, sehingga berjumpa lagi, selamat mencuba. SESUATU PENYAKIT ITU DATANG DARI ALLAH DAN PENAWARNYA JUGA DATANG DARI ALLAH.
